Animation can be a blessing or the downfall of a website. Depending on the needs of the site, animation could/should be kept to a minimum. Unless, of course, you are designing a game site, then what would it be without animation?

Below is an example of a fade-in slide show. This script was obtained from Dynamic Drive dot com. While I do like the images changing as they are, it might be easier to use a flash document for these. Animation can be as simple as a change in background color on a link or as fancy as a fireworks display. It again falls back to the skill level and needs of the developer. But it certainly can be a lot of fun creating things like this!
