Blogs

This is Blogging

Blogs are not necessarily new but they are a new way for employees and companies to stay in touch. It is easy and painless for, as an example, a salesperson on the road to enter information on a sales call that the company can access at anytime.

By definition a blog is a website for which an individual or a group generates text, photographs, audio files, and/or links, typically but not always on a daily or otherwise regular basis. The term is a shortened form of weblog. Authoring a blog, maintaining a blog or adding an article to an existing blog is called "blogging". Individual articles on a blog are called "blog posts", "posts", or "entries".

Anyone with internet access can set up a blog. Blogger.com advertises a simple 3 step setup. Create an account, name your blog and choose your template. Besides the obvious advantage for a business, family's can set up blogs with multiple accounts that members can log into and update their own sector of the world for other family members to read. Plus depending on the site, you can actually blog from your mobile phone!

Yes, I too have been a blogger. I used to update it regularly but as time went on and life got busier, it went to the wayside. In fact, the last update on that blog was in January, right before I started school. I am willing to bet no one wonders where my time is spent now! The question would be will I blog again? Absolutely!
